Parks and community draw in Harmony’s 500th family

July 14, 2023

After only recently welcoming its 300th family in April, Palmview’s largest masterplanned community, Harmony by AVID Property Group (AVID), has reached another significant milestone welcoming its 500th family.

Lauren McCarthy and her daughter Lacey are the 500th family to call Harmony home, having just moved into their new three-bedroom house.

A first home buyer, Ms McCarthy made the decision to build rather than buy, in order to take advantage of the Queensland Government’s First Homeowners Grant and live in a community which suited her lifestyle.

“Living in Harmony is ideal as a parent because I have the ease of a low-maintenance home and yard with the added benefit of all the parks, open spaces and walking trails in the community,” Ms McCarthy said.

“Harmony is perfect for me and is really central to everything I need – it only takes me 10 minutes to get to Lacey’s school, my work or the beach on the weekend.

“By building, I was able to make some small changes to the design of our home by opening up the living room so it flowed onto the alfresco area – this really enhanced the indoor-outdoor design I wanted.”

For Ms McCarthy one of the main drawcards of Harmony was the Grand Linear Park and its proximity to her home.

“One of the reasons we love living here is that our home is only a short stroll away from the Grand Linear Park where Lacey loves riding her scooter,” Ms McCarthy said.

“Before moving in, we went to the opening of the Grand Linear Park and it was a really great way for Lacey to get a taste of our new community and where we would be living.

“After seeing and playing at the park, she was really excited about moving into our new home.”

Due to the ongoing demand for the community, Harmony has recently released 30 new blocks of land in its greenest neighbourhood, Unity.

AVID Property Group General Manager Queensland Bruce Harper said he expected Unity would be one of Harmony’s most popular neighbourhoods due to its close proximity to parks and green spaces.

“Once complete, Unity will be surrounded by lush green reserves and more than 22 hectares of recreational parkland, including the Future District Recreation Park and District Sports Park,” Mr Harper said.

“This land release also has direct access to Harmony’s Greenwall Parklands – a 1.6-kilometre walking and bike pathway, perfect for a morning walk with the dog or even a weekend bike ride with the kids.

“Welcoming our 500th family is a significant milestone for Harmony, and we look forward to welcoming even more families to our community with this latest land release.”
